Pr. External Product and Test Engineer
Role Summary
Provide engineering support for semiconductor test operations at subcontractor/test-house (OSAT) sites. Drive operational KPIs across quality, cost and delivery, qualify test hardware/facilities, and collaborate with internal engineering, test design, planning, suppliers and OSAT partners to improve yield and reduce test cost.
Experience Level
Mid-level. The role requires a minimum of 3 years of experience in Semiconductor Product and Test Engineering.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities focus on supporting and improving test operations and ensuring customer delivery.
- Drive and achieve test operation KPIs for quality, cost and delivery.
- Provide daily engineering support for test operations and maintain continuous supply and delivery to customers.
- Qualify new test hardware and facilities at subcontractor factories.
- Participate in setup and review of new processes and manufacturing systems.
- Collaborate with business line engineering, test designers, planners, suppliers and OSAT on yield improvement and test cost reduction projects.
- Debug test programs and perform test data analysis on ATE platforms (e.g., Advantest, Teradyne).
- Provide technical expertise and support for test procedures and resolve test-related issues at OSAT sites.
- Communicate status and participate in multi-cultural, cross-functional team meetings.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and professional competencies.
- At least 3 years' experience in semiconductor product and test engineering.
- Experience working with test equipment such as ATE testers, handlers or probers; familiarity with test program debugging and test data analysis.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Clear communication, organization and documentation skills.
- Able to work independently with initiative and also collaborate effectively in teams; adaptable to dynamic situations.
- Value teamwork and flexibility in cross-functional environments.
Nice-to-have:
- Knowledge or experience with Digital, Analog, RF (Cellular), Bluetooth and WiFi testing, or willingness to learn these domains.
- Experience driving yield improvement and test cost reduction projects.
Education Requirements
Minimum university degree in Engineering (degree level stated as a university qualification; field: engineering).
