Power-Performance and Overclocking Industry Immersion Intern

Role Summary

Six-month, full-time internship on Intel's Client platform Power, Performance and Overclocking team based in San Jose, Costa Rica. The intern will support platform development and performance/overclocking activities and work directly with cross-functional engineering teams.

This role provides hands-on engineering experience in product development, testing, and performance analysis within a production engineering environment.

Experience Level

Entry-level — Internship (fixed-duration, six months). No specific years of professional experience required; position intended for students or recent graduates.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include contributing to platform development projects, supporting testing and analysis, and documenting technical findings.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to execute projects aligned with platform and business objectives.
  • Apply technical methods and tools in Client platform development, performance tuning, and overclocking activities.
  • Participate in design reviews, brainstorming sessions, and technical discussions to improve solutions.
  • Perform hands-on work with development and testing tools used by Power/Performance/Overclocking teams.
  • Collect, analyze, and document test results, lessons learned, and recommendations to inform decisions.
  • Research emerging trends and technologies to support continuous improvement and innovation.

Requirements

Must-have qualifications and conditions for consideration.

  • Basic knowledge of product development practices and methodologies.
  • Programming skills: Python and C++; experience with Batch scripting.
  • Understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals and computer hardware architecture.
  • Intermediate English communication skills (written and oral).
  • Unrestricted, permanent right to work in Costa Rica.
  • Ability to work full time on-site in San Jose for the six-month internship period.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with statistical data analysis and data visualization.
  • Familiarity with overclocking concepts, performance tests, and benchmark or competitive analysis.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and teamwork skills; self-motivated and willing to learn.

Education Requirements

Enrollment in, or recent graduation from, a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or an equivalent technical field; equivalent practical experience may be considered.
