Power Integrity Industry Immersion Intern

Role Summary

This is a full-time, six-month internship on Intel's Power Integrity team based in San José, Costa Rica (hybrid). The intern will support client platform development projects by applying electrical engineering fundamentals to power integrity and validation tasks.

The role involves hands-on simulation and analysis, cross-functional collaboration, documentation of results, and mentorship-driven professional development.

Experience Level

Entry-level (Intern). Intended for current students or recent graduates; expects at least 3 months of relevant academic or practical experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include technical analysis, collaboration with engineering teams, and producing documentation that supports design and validation decisions.

  • Apply circuit analysis, RC/RLC concepts, and basic AC analysis to power integrity problems.
  • Perform simulations and analyses using industry-standard tools and support validation activities.
  • Collaborate with hardware design, validation, and product development teams to execute projects.
  • Participate in technical reviews, brainstorming sessions, and exploratory research to support innovation.
  • Document project results, lessons learned, and recommendations for stakeholders.
  • Engage in mentorship, technical discussions, and professional development opportunities.

Requirements

Must-have skills and conditions for consideration.

  • Fluent in English.
  • At least 3 months of exposure to product development practices and electrical engineering fundamentals (circuit analysis, RC/RLC circuits, basic AC analysis).
  • Self-motivated with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to learn and contribute in a collaborative environment.
  • Position is not eligible for employment-based visa/immigration sponsorship.

Nice-to-have:

  • Familiarity with electrical simulation tools such as Sigrity PowerSI, PowerDC, HSpice, Matlab, and HFSS.
  • Experience with PCB design and circuit simulators.
  • Interest in innovation and emerging technologies related to power integrity and platform engineering.

Education Requirements

Enrollment in or graduation from a Bachelor's or Master's program in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. A resume in English is required.
