Power Infrastructure Engineer
Role Summary
Join the SiFive power team to develop measurement and analysis infrastructure for IP power consumption and use those results to guide architecture, design, and physical design teams toward energy-efficient IPs.
Experience Level
Mid-level β expects approximately 5+ years of relevant experience in power benchmarking, analysis, and modeling.
Responsibilities
The role focuses on building flows and models to quantify and predict power, correlating results across RTL and silicon, and advising design teams on power/performance trade-offs.
- Develop and deploy power analysis flows and models to collect and analyze IP power consumption.
- Correlate power models with RTL results and silicon measurements.
- Create power models for architecture exploration and design decisions.
- Develop predictive methods to estimate power impact of design changes.
- Advise architecture, design, and PD teams on trade-offs between performance and power.
Requirements
Must-have technical experience and skills.
- 5+ years of experience in power benchmarking, analysis, and modeling.
- Experience with power impacts at the architecture, logic, and circuit levels.
- Good knowledge of high-performance out-of-order CPU architecture.
- Experience guiding trade-offs between performance and power to reach optimal designs.
- Experience with ASIC power analysis and optimization.
- Competency in software engineering best practices for maintaining large object-oriented codebases.
- Self-starter with strong problem-solving skills and ability to learn quickly.

Nice-to-have: Hands-on experience in HW development (RTL, implementation, verification/validation, backend flows, FPGA flows) or software development.
Education Requirements
MS or PhD in Computer Science or Computer Architecture.
