Job Title

Power Architect

Role Summary

Join the Tensix team to drive power architecture, modeling, and optimization for next-generation AI compute systems. This is a hands-on role responsible for shaping how power is predicted, measured, and reduced across the product stack.

This position is hybrid, based out of Toronto, ON, Canada or Austin, TX, United States, and will collaborate with architecture, RTL, and system teams to deliver power-aware designs.

Experience Level

Senior β€” typically 10+ years of relevant experience in power estimation and architectural power optimization.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include early-stage power prediction, architectural tradeoffs, and driving design changes to reduce power:

  • Predict power consumption early in the architecture phase and maintain estimates through RTL evolution.
  • Propose and evaluate architectural changes (power-gating, voltage domains, leakage control) to optimize power across server and non-server markets.
  • Build and run workloads that stress real-world use cases to guide thermal and power-delivery solutions.
  • Correlate pre-silicon estimates with silicon measurements and drive concrete power-efficiency improvements.
  • Influence micro-architectural and architectural decisions to reduce design power in compute datapaths and interconnects.
  • Integrate power modeling and estimation into development CI and verification flows.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience to perform the role:

  • 10+ years experience with power estimation tools such as PowerArtist, PtPX, RTL Architect, and PrimePower.
  • Proven ability to model and optimize power at the architectural level, including power-gating and multi-voltage domain design.
  • Deep understanding of leakage control techniques and power delivery considerations.
  • Proficient in Verilog (HDL), Design Compiler, and scripting/programming in C/C++ and Python.
  • Background in power-optimization of compute datapaths and/or interconnects, with a track record of driving power reductions.
  • Experience correlating pre-silicon power estimates to silicon measurements and implementing improvements.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience building workloads and thermal/power-delivery validation for real-world AI use cases.
  • Familiarity with server and non-server market requirements and chiplet-based systems.

Education Requirements

Not specified.
