Power and Thermal Management Industry Immersion Intern

Role Summary

Six‑month, full‑time internship on the Client Platform development team focused on power and thermal management for Intel platforms. The intern will work with multidisciplinary engineering teams to support data collection, automation, validation, and modelling tasks that contribute to platform development.

The role provides hands‑on project work, mentoring, and exposure to industry practices in a hybrid work model based in San José, Costa Rica.

Experience Level

Entry-level / Internship (student intern). Suitable for current students or recent graduates; prior classwork, projects, or internship experience expected.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include development, data analysis, and collaboration to support power and thermal platform work.

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to execute Client Platform development projects.
• Develop automation scripts and tools for testing and data processing.
• Perform data analysis, validation, and documentation of results.
• Contribute to power management models and maintain design repositories.
• Participate in technical reviews, brainstorming sessions, and cross‑functional discussions.
• Research emerging technologies and industry trends to inform improvements.
• Document project outcomes, lessons learned, and recommendations.

Requirements

Minimum technical and professional qualifications expected for initial consideration; preferred items are additional advantages.

• Must-have: Fluent English.
• Must-have: At least ~3 months of lab experience relevant to engineering work.
• Must-have: At least ~3 months of coding experience (practical scripting or programming).
• Must-have: Self-motivated, strong teamwork and communication skills, analytical problem-solving, and adaptability.
• Preferred: Familiarity with product development practices and methodologies.
• Preferred: Hardware experience with basic software knowledge; understanding of hardware requirements.
• Preferred: Automation-focused coding skills, experience with GitHub and Linux.
• Preferred: Interest in innovation and emerging technologies.

Education Requirements

Enrollment in or graduation from a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or an equivalent technical field; equivalent practical experience also acceptable. (This internship is intended for students/recent graduates.)
