Power Analysis Engineer

Role Summary

Plan, build, and execute verification and power analysis activities for AMD graphics processor IP. Work with architects, RTL and firmware engineers to define test plans, implement directed and random tests, and ensure designs meet functional and power requirements.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include deriving test plans, implementing verification tests, and collaborating across hardware, firmware, and software teams to resolve design issues.

• Collaborate with architects, hardware, and firmware engineers to understand features to be verified and analyzed.
• Create test plan documentation that covers feature interactions with hardware, firmware, and drivers.
• Estimate development effort for tests and test-environment changes.
• Implement directed and random verification tests and power analysis flows.
• Debug test and simulation failures to determine root cause; work with RTL and firmware teams to resolve defects.
• Monitor functional and code coverage; add or adjust tests to meet coverage targets.
• Automate verification and analysis workflows in distributed compute environments where applicable.

Must-have:

• Experience with IP-level ASIC verification, including simulation-based verification and debug.
• Proficiency with Verilog, SystemVerilog and UVM testbenches.
• Proficiency in C and C++ and experience working on Linux (Windows exposure helpful).
• Experience debugging RTL and firmware using simulation tools.

Nice-to-have:

• Graphics pipeline or multimedia/video codec system experience.
• Experience with SystemC/TLM, HLS tools or simulation acceleration and profiling.
• Scripting experience (Perl, Ruby, Makefile, shell) and automation in distributed compute environments.
• Experience developing UVM-based verification frameworks and mentoring or leadership exposure.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
