Role Summary

Join AMD's Cores Organization in Fort Collins, CO, as a post-silicon validation engineer focused on validating next-generation CPU cores and caches. You will work in a silicon lab and contribute as a technical expert to bring microprocessor designs to manufacturable, high-performance silicon.

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities in this role include lab validation, debug, and cross-team coordination:

  • Operate and troubleshoot silicon lab setups for at-speed testing and debug.
  • Set up hardware systems to enable functional and performance testing.
  • Develop, run, and debug x86 test software to validate microprocessor functionality and testability.
  • Drive project deliverables and dependencies with RTL, DFT, implementation, and manufacturing teams across sites.
  • Investigate and resolve design and tool issues; propose innovative solutions.
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations for peers and management.

Requirements

  • Prior experience validating microprocessors or ASIC hardware in a lab environment.
  • Proven programming and scripting proficiency: x86 assembly, C/C++, Perl, Ruby, and Python.

  • Solid understanding of modern computer architecture and microprocessor design principles.
