Role Summary

Senior validation engineer for Machine Learning accelerator products responsible for validation from early design (RTL/emulation) through silicon bring-up, post-silicon validation, and production support in cloud data centers.

The role partners with architecture, RTL/design verification, firmware, and software teams to ensure accelerator correctness, performance, and reliability across functional, performance, power, and stress dimensions.

Responsibilities

Deliver validation strategies, execute complex test plans, and drive root-cause closure from simulation through deployed production systems.

• Develop comprehensive validation strategies and test plans covering functional, performance, power, and stress testing.
• Execute tests across RTL simulation, emulation, and physical silicon; perform hands-on silicon bring-up and debug using lab instruments.
• Validate ML-accelerator performance, accuracy, and reliability with real-world neural network workloads.
• Build and maintain test infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and automated regression frameworks.
• Collaborate across architecture, design, firmware, and software teams to triage failures and complete root-cause analysis.
• Mentor junior validation engineers and review test results to improve validation coverage and product quality.
• Deploy validation tests and improvements to production systems in AWS data centers and manufacturing environments.

Requirements

Key technical skills and hands-on experience required or strongly preferred.

• Must-have: Strong programming skills (Python, C/C++, Rust, Go, Lua or similar); 5+ years programming experience.
• Must-have: Solid understanding of computer architecture and chip/system validation methodologies.
• Must-have: Experience with Linux environments, Git, server hardware, and hardware debug tools.
• Must-have: Knowledge of full validation lifecycle: RTL simulation (SystemVerilog/UVM and common simulators) and emulation through silicon failure analysis and debug.
• Must-have: Experience with CI/CD and cloud infrastructure for test automation and deployments.
• Strongly preferred / domain expertise: PCIe, HBM, GPUs, neural networks, ML HW architecture, firmware testing/development (BIOS, BMC, drivers).
• Nice-to-have: Experience with EDA simulation/emulation platforms (Palladium, Zebu, Veloce) and prior work deploying tests to production data centers.
• Other: Proven experience in system test development, code reviews, source control, automated build/deploy and operations (5+ years non-internship experience expected).

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related technical field is specified.
