Post Silicon and System Validation Engineer
Role Summary
Develop and validate firmware and system-level software for high-end mixed-signal IP and FPGA-based boards. Lead prototype bring-up, debug silicon issues, and enable integration between IP, silicon, and system software.
Work within a cross-functional validation/firmware team collaborating with architecture, design, software, and tools groups to ensure reliable production validation and debug flows.
Experience Level
Mid-level β approximately 2+ years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Develop system-level firmware and software closely coupled to FPGA silicon, IP, and boards.
- Perform prototype bring-up and debug silicon; document findings and resolutions through production handoff.
- Apply hardware and software tools and techniques to validate functionality and increase coverage.
- Quickly learn and work with communication protocols required for validation.
- Collaborate with architecture, design, software, and tools teams to integrate validation and debugging solutions.
- Improve validation and debugging processes by identifying gaps and proposing tooling or methodology changes.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience:
- Approximately 2+ years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in Python.
- Hands-on hardware and software debugging experience (board bring-up, probing, JTAG, etc.).
- Experience developing firmware or system-level software for embedded/FPGA systems.
- Solid understanding of design principles and data structures.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with mixed-signal IP, high-speed interfaces, or FPGA toolchains.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent technical field; or equivalent practical experience.
