Role Summary

Develop and optimize systems-level software and tools to enable high-performance GPU-to-GPU communication for AI and HPC workloads. Collaborate with hardware and software teams to improve RDMA throughput, latency, collective communications, and cluster-level performance.

Work includes benchmarking, root-cause analysis, debugging, and influencing hardware compatibility; the role can be performed remotely and there are multiple openings.

Experience Level

Mid-level β€” requires five (5) years of relevant engineering experience (or an alternative of a Bachelor's plus seven (7) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience).

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities focus on performance, debugging, and tool development for GPU clusters and networking.

  • Design and implement systems-level software and tools for GPU-to-GPU communication over Ethernet and RDMA.
  • Develop and execute benchmarking strategies to measure throughput, latency, and collective communication performance.
  • Perform root-cause analysis and lead cross-team debug efforts to identify and resolve performance issues.
  • Improve debug capabilities and develop automation and tooling for efficient analysis.
  • Determine hardware compatibility and provide input to hardware design decisions.
  • Integrate and validate operating systems, network stacks, and cluster management systems for GPU clusters.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience.

  • Five (5) years of experience in the job offered or a closely related engineering role.
  • Performance optimization experience with GPU clusters and familiarity with GPU architectures and parallel computing concepts.
  • Experience with RDMA network configuration, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
  • Knowledge of Linux kernel networking and cluster management tools.
  • Proficiency in scripting (Python, Bash) for automation and performance analysis.
  • Experience with system-level performance analysis tools and software debugging methodologies.
  • Experience in machine learning or HPC system design.

Nice-to-have: Not specified.

Education Requirements

Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field is required. Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in the same fields plus seven (7) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience as an alternative. Foreign equivalents and equivalent practical experience are recognized where noted.
