PMTS Application Engineering (MIPS)
Role Summary
Field Application Engineer supporting customer engagements in Korea for MIPS processor IP, software tools, and custom silicon solutions. This is a customer-facing, technical individual contributor role focused on enabling design wins during pre-sales and early development.
Experience Level
Senior level. The posting requests 7+ years of relevant SoC/ASIC design and architecture experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities during pre-sales and early development to enable customer adoption of MIPS solutions.
- Serve as the primary technical interface for customers during pre-sales and early development phases.
- Support customer teams evaluating and adopting processor IP, toolchains, development environments, and system architecture choices.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues and coordinate fixes with internal engineering teams.
- Provide technical input for proposals, RFIs, evaluations, and customer presentations to secure design wins for IP licenses, tools, and custom silicon.
- Support ecosystem partner engagements, customer workshops, demos, and industry events.
- Travel as needed to support customers (up to ~30%).
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items listed separately.
- 7+ years experience in SoC/ASIC design and architecture (must-have).
- Proven experience in customer-facing technical roles and pre-sales engineering (must-have).
- Good understanding of RISC and DSP processor architectures (must-have).
- Strong communication and presentation skills; ability to translate customer requirements for product and engineering teams (must-have).
- Ability to troubleshoot system-level hardware and software issues and to work with internal teams to resolve them (must-have).
- Preferred: experience across SoC design stages (architecture, RTL/Verilog, synthesis, physical design); embedded system design, firmware/software development, DSP algorithms, AI/ML system design, functional safety and security concepts.
Education Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) is stated; Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) is preferred.
