Platform Integration Engineer
Role Summary
Design and integrate on-chip interconnects and chassis IP for Intel SoCs within the Chassis Group. Work with SoC architects and foundation IP teams to develop high-performance networks-on-chip that meet power, performance, and area (PPA) targets and fit physical floorplan constraints.
Experience Level
Mid-level — guidance in the posting requests 6+ years of relevant SoC or IP design experience.
Responsibilities
Primary technical and coordination responsibilities for SoC chassis and interconnect integration.
- Collaborate with SoC architecture teams to capture chassis and interconnect requirements.
- Design and develop high-performance networks-on-chip using chassis foundation library components.
- Coordinate with foundation IP development teams to modify or create IP components per SoC needs.
- Analyze power, performance, and area trade-offs; propose design adjustments to meet PPA targets.
- Work with physical design to ensure floorplan compatibility and meet timing constraints.
- Support integration, validation, and issue mitigation across cross-functional and distributed engineering teams.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience, plus preferred additions.
- Must have: 6+ years of SoC and/or IP design experience.
- Must have: Proficiency in Verilog/SystemVerilog and experience with lint, CDC/RDC, and timing constraints.
- Must have: Good understanding of on-chip protocols such as AMBA (CHI, AXI, AHB, APB) and PCIe/CXL.
- Must have: Experience analyzing power, performance, and area trade-offs and working with physical design teams.
- Nice to have: Microarchitecture and IP system design experience; prior fabric design/integration experience (~2+ years).
- Nice to have: Experience coordinating with geographically distributed teams and strong communication skills.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Science or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
