Physical Verification Engineer, EDA

Role Summary

Join Qorvo's EDA team to develop and maintain physical verification flows for RF ICs, acoustic wave (SAW/BAW) devices, and multi-technology modules. The role focuses on rule deck development, verification flow enablement, automation, and cross-team debugging to improve verification methodologies and infrastructure.

This position is onsite in Barcelona; the expectation is to be onsite five days per week.

Experience Level

Entry-level / Early Career - approximately 2+ years of related experience or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include developing verification rule decks, supporting verification flows across technologies, and improving EDA automation and infrastructure.

  • Develop and maintain physical verification rule decks (DRC, LVS, ERC).
  • Support verification flows for RF ICs, SAW/BAW, and multi-technology modules.
  • Collaborate with design, R&D, and process teams to debug and refine verification methodologies.
  • Enhance EDA flows and infrastructure across industry-standard tools.
  • Develop automation scripts (Python) to improve efficiency and scalability.
  • Provide EDA tool support and assistance to internal users.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and environment familiarity, plus a few preferred additions.

Must-have:

  • Practical understanding of physical verification concepts: DRC, LVS, ERC.
  • Familiarity with industry physical verification tools such as Calibre, ICV, or Cadence PVS/Pegasus.
  • Programming/scripting experience in Python or equivalent.
  • Comfortable working in Linux/UNIX environments.

Nice-to-have:

  • Exposure to RF or EM design tools (Virtuoso, ADS, HFSS, etc.).
  • Experience with automation, design workflows, or EDA infrastructure projects.
  • Academic or internship experience in EDA, physical design, or verification.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Equivalent practical experience is acceptable.
