Physical Digital Design Engineer (Jr.)
Role Summary
Junior Physical Digital Design Engineer on the digital/mixed-signal ASIC team in Taipei. Assist in the development, design and physical implementation of digital and mixed-signal ICs using industry-standard ASIC tools under direction of senior designers.
Work focuses on power-management and mixed-signal products and requires close collaboration with CAD and technology development groups.
Experience Level
Entry-level (Junior). Role is intended for early-career engineers; no specific years of experience stated.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Contribute to the physical implementation and release of digital and mixed-signal ASICs.
- Develop and review synthesis and place-and-route (P&R) SDC constraints.
- Execute synthesis and P&R flows and perform logical equivalence checks.
- Perform power and IR-drop analysis and participate in DFT implementation and metrics analysis.
- Coordinate with CAD, technology development, and senior designers to meet project milestones.
- Follow design specifications and procedures; complete assigned tasks on schedule.
Requirements
Must-have and preferred technical skills:

Must-have: Basic knowledge of the ASIC development process and digital design techniques; ability to follow instructions and deliver tasks to meet project milestones; effective written and verbal communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred / Nice-to-have: Experience with RTL coding (Verilog, SystemVerilog), synthesis and P&R flows, SDC constraint development, logical equivalence checking, power/IR analysis, DFT modes (SCAN, IDDQ, MBIST/LBIST), multi-mode multi-corner analysis, interface protocols (I2C, SPI, USB, PMBUS), and scripting/automation (TCL, Python, C/C++).
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with emphasis in Digital Design/VLSI or a related technical field.
