Physical Design Engineer Intern
Role Summary
Work on the physical implementation of digital and mixed-signal integrated circuits using industry-standard ASIC tools. The intern will assist senior digital and physical designers on synthesis, place-and-route, power/IR analysis, DFT, and verification tasks for power-management and mixed-signal products.

Intern / Entry-level role for current students or recent graduates; no years-of-experience requirement specified.
Responsibilities
Support the physical-design flow and related verification, working under supervision to meet project milestones.
- Contribute to design, development, and physical implementation of digital and mixed-signal ICs.
- Develop and review synthesis and P&R SDC constraints.
- Participate in synthesis flow and place-and-route flow tasks.
- Perform logical equivalence checks and power/IR-drop analysis.
- Implement DFT and analyze DFT metrics.
- Collaborate with CAD and technology development teams and follow design specifications and procedures.

- Ability to follow instructions and execute tasks to meet project milestones.
- Basic knowledge of the ASIC development process and digital design techniques.
- Good written and verbal communication skills and ability to work in a team.
Nice-to-have:
- Familiarity with DFT modes and methodologies such as scan, IDDQ, delay-fault, MBIST, and LBIST.
- Experience with RTL/behavioral languages (Verilog, SystemVerilog).
- Protocol knowledge (I2C, SPI, USB, PMBUS).
- Scripting and automation experience (Tcl, Python, C/C++).
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with emphasis in Digital Design / VLSI coursework.
