Junior Digital Design Engineer - MCU
Role Summary
Work on digital design for microcontroller (MCU) System-on-Chip within NXP's Industrial & IoT Edge product team in Catania. The role focuses on RTL implementation, synthesis, timing and verification to deliver production-quality MCU sub-circuits and to integrate with analog, mixed-signal and software teams.
Contribute across the product lifecycle from RTL through post-silicon validation and debugging.

Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include RTL development, verification, and system integration.
- Implement RTL in Verilog/SystemVerilog and perform synthesis and static timing analysis (STA).
- Perform functional verification using simulation, formal techniques and hardware emulation.
- Contribute to design-for-testability (DFT) implementation and verification; support debug activities.
- Participate in post-silicon validation and root-cause debugging to resolve issues.
- Collaborate with analog, mixed-signal and software teams to define interfaces and optimize system performance.
- Generate design documentation, specifications, test plans and participate in design reviews.
- Follow team design methodologies to meet schedule and quality targets.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and professional attributes.
- Proficient in Verilog/SystemVerilog for RTL design and verification.
- Familiarity with EDA tools for RTL coding, synthesis, STA and formal verification.
- Understanding of digital circuit design, timing analysis, power integrity and low-power techniques.
- Practical DFT knowledge and debugging skills.
- Problem-solving attitude, attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a team.
- Nice-to-have: basic knowledge of UVM; additional experience with power analysis or formal flows.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical field.
