Role Summary

Responsible for semicustom physical implementation from netlist handoff through tapeout. Work with cross-functional design, verification, and manufacturing teams to optimize design quality and achieve physical signoff in advanced technology nodes.

This role does not involve sales, contract execution, or pricing negotiations.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities focus on executing the physical design flow and resolving issues to support tapeout readiness.

• Execute semicustom physical design flow from netlist handoff through physical verification and tapeout.
• Develop and maintain floorplans, placement, routing, power distribution networks (PDN), and physical design constraints.
• Perform DRC, LVS, parasitic extraction, and physical signoff activities.
• Analyze and resolve timing, signal integrity, electromigration, IR drop, reliability, and manufacturability issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive design closure, debug issues, and support tapeout readiness.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience:

• Experience in VLSI physical design, semiconductor layout, or physical implementation.
• Knowledge of semicustom physical design flows, physical verification tools, and advanced technology node methodologies.
• Understanding of timing closure, PDN build, signal integrity, reliability, and production feasibility concepts.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with effective communication and collaboration ability.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience supporting physical design closure and tapeout for complex semiconductor products.
• Familiarity with physical design automation and process improvement practices.
• Experience documenting technical decisions and participating in design reviews.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted engineering tools and agentic AI tools to improve design productivity.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
