Role Summary

Implement physical design for custom IP and SoC from RTL to GDS, ensuring manufacturable layouts that meet power, timing and reliability targets.

Work within the physical design team on place-and-route, timing closure, power and noise analysis, and signoff activities.

Responsibilities

Responsible for end-to-end physical implementation and verification; typical duties include:

• Implement RTL-to-GDS physical design for IP and SoC.
• Perform synthesis, floorplanning, place-and-route, and clock tree synthesis.
• Conduct static timing analysis and pursue timing closure.
• Analyze and optimize power distribution, power/performance/area trade-offs, and noise issues.
• Execute verification and signoff tasks: formal equivalence checking, layout verification, ERC/LVS, and reliability checks.
• Investigate results, identify violations, and recommend fixes for current and future architectures.
• Develop and improve physical design methodologies and automation flows.

Requirements

Core must-have skills and experience:

• Proven expertise in physical design flow using industry-standard EDA tools (synthesis, place-and-route, CTS, STA).
• Experience with power/clock distribution, multi-power-domain analysis, and power integrity analysis.
• Strong understanding of timing closure, physical clock design, coverage analysis, and DFT.
• Ability to perform layout verification, electrical rule checks, and structural design checks required for signoff.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze violations and optimize designs for power, frequency, and area.
• Experience in flow automation and methodology improvement.
