Role Summary

Perform physical design implementation of custom IP and SoC from RTL to GDS, producing manufacturing-ready design databases. Work across synthesis, place and route, clock tree synthesis, floorplanning, static timing analysis, power distribution and reliability verification through to backend signoff.

Join a Central Engineering Group team focused on product enablement, custom ASICs, and foundry enablement. The role is eligible for a hybrid work model.

Experience Level

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

• Implement end-to-end physical design flow for IP and SoC designs (RTL to GDS).
• Perform synthesis, placement & routing, clock tree synthesis and floorplanning.
• Execute static timing analysis and timing closure activities.
• Analyze and mitigate IR drop, power integrity, reliability and noise issues.
• Run layout verification, electrical rule checks and backend signoff flows.
• Conduct verification and signoff tasks including formal equivalence and structural checks.
• Optimize designs for power, performance and area; recommend fixes and architectural changes.
• Develop and improve physical design methodologies and automation to improve flow efficiency.
• Collaborate with design and clocking teams to integrate blocks and validate timing.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

• Proven experience with synthesis, place & route, timing analysis and optimization for SoC designs.
• Experience with IR drop, reliability analysis, layout verification and backend signoff flows.
• Practical expertise using industry-standard EDA tools for physical implementation and signoff.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for debugging and improving design flows.
• Ability to collaborate across functional teams to drive integration and timing closure.
• Nice-to-have: experience with automation and flow scripting to accelerate design delivery.

Education Requirements
