Photonic Design Manager
Role Summary
Lead a team of silicon photonics design engineers to deliver product-quality photonic integrated circuits (PICs) for co-packaged optics. Responsible for establishing device and circuit design best practices, driving DFx, and collaborating across foundry, supply chain, and cross-functional teams to support yield and product delivery.

Responsibilities
Manage design activities and ensure delivery of manufacturable photonic devices and circuits.
- Lead and grow a design team to deliver advanced integrated silicon photonic devices.
- Define and drive foundry technology and supply-chain requirements in coordination with internal and external partners.
- Establish and maintain DFx and design best practices across photonic projects.
- Drive innovation in devices, circuits, and optical architectures for integrated photonics.
- Ensure designs meet product-quality, yield, and manufacturability targets for co-packaged optics.
- Mentor engineers, support career development, and report progress to senior leadership.

- Hands-on capability in photonic device and circuit design and analysis.

- Ability to collaborate across foundry, supply chain, test, packaging, and cross-functional teams.
- Eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship (role is not eligible for visa sponsorship).
- Experience taking photonic products from R&D to high-volume manufacturing (HVM).
- Familiarity with industry photonic/electronic design tools (Cadence/Synopsys, Ansys FDTD/MODE, TCAD, HFSS, EMX, COMSOL, etc.).
- Photonic design and analysis software development (Python, MATLAB, Verilog-A).
- Deep expertise in optical communications from device physics through link architecture.
- Experience with high-speed design, test systems, optical control, hardware/firmware, advanced packaging, reliability, and qualification testing.
Education Requirements
