Role Summary

Senior validation engineer on the Hardware Engineering team responsible for Ethernet IP and SoC-level validation across pre-silicon, emulation and post-silicon environments. The role develops and executes validation plans, drives bring-up and debug, and collaborates with architecture, design and systems teams to ensure functional correctness and production readiness.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include creating and executing validation strategies, driving cross-functional bring-up and debug, and ensuring coverage for functional, performance and power requirements.

• Develop, execute and maintain comprehensive validation plans for Ethernet IP and SoC-level features across pre-silicon, emulation and post-silicon environments.
• Translate validation requirements from IP architecture, design and systems teams into robust test content.
• Lead bring-up, root-cause analysis and debug for complex cross-functional hardware, driver and platform issues.
• Define and measure validation coverage to ensure functional correctness, performance, power behavior, and production readiness.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills, plus preferred experience when indicated.

• Must-have: Hands-on experience with Ethernet controllers, NIC architectures and PCIe or other high-speed connectivity IPs.
• Must-have: Proficiency in bare-metal and Linux driver development; strong C/C++ programming and debugging skills.
• Must-have: Solid understanding of embedded systems, SoC architecture, peripheral subsystems and hardware/software interaction.
• Must-have: Experience validating complex SoC features across functional, performance, power and system-level scenarios.
• Must-have: Hands-on use of lab and debug tools such as Lauterbach TRACE32, oscilloscopes, protocol analyzers and traffic-generation equipment.
• Nice-to-have: Exposure to automotive SoC development, automotive Ethernet, safety-aware validation practices or automotive process requirements.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field with 3+ years of hardware engineering or related experience; OR Master's degree in those fields with 2+ years' experience; OR PhD in those fields with 1+ year of experience.
