QualcommJob Title
Peripherals Design Verification - Sr Staff Engineer
Role Summary
Senior verification engineer responsible for unit and IP-level verification of peripheral subsystems. Work on coverage-driven, constrained-random verification, UVM/SystemVerilog testbenches, and protocol verification for interfaces such as PCIe, CXL, USB, and Ethernet.
Collaborate with design, validation, and system teams to develop test plans, integrate reference models, and automate verification flows to ensure silicon quality and performance.
Experience Level
Senior level. The posting specifies 8+ years of experience in unit and IP level verification; minimum-qualification guidance lists degree-dependent experience (see Education Requirements).
Responsibilities
The role focuses on planning and executing IP/unit verification and delivering robust verification environments.
- Define and execute verification plans for peripheral IP and units.
- Develop coverage-driven, constrained-random verification environments using SystemVerilog and UVM.
- Implement testbenches: stimulus, agents, monitors, and checkers.
- Verify standard protocols (PCIe, CXL, USB, Ethernet) at protocol and system levels.
- Integrate and validate C-based reference models within testbenches.
- Automate verification tasks and scripting for regression and tool flows.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to debug issues from RTL to silicon bring-up.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience.
- 8+ years experience in unit and IP level verification.
- Strong SystemVerilog and UVM skills; experience with coverage-driven verification and test planning.
- Proven testbench development experience (stimulus, agent, monitor, checker).
- Experience verifying standard protocols: PCIe, CXL, USB, Ethernet.
- Experience integrating C-based reference models inside testbenches.
- Scripting experience (Perl, Python) for test automation and tool integration.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or a related field with 6+ years of hardware engineering or related experience; OR Master's degree in those fields with 5+ years of experience; OR PhD in those fields with 4+ years of experience. The posting allows related work experience in place of degree-specific expectations.
