Job Title

PDE HBM Yield Engineering

Role Summary

Work on yield analysis and improvement for HBM NPI builds at Fab 16 (Taichung). Partner with process engineers (PI/PE), reliability/data analysis (RDA), PCS and cross-functional teams to identify defect sources, quantify yield loss, and propose corrective actions.

Maintain yield dashboards, perform failure analysis breakdowns, support block runs and conversions, and apply AI-assisted tools to increase efficiency and detection capability.

Experience Level

Entry-level — 0–4 years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing or engineering.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities focus on yield accounting, deviation control, improvement opportunities, and integrating AI tools into yield workflows.

  • Account for HBM NPI builds across PWF, assembly, and test through defect breakdown and PFA submission to identify fail modes.
  • Collaborate with PI/PE/RDA to trace defects to source areas and support corrective/improvement plans (CIP).
  • Maintain and update yield dashboards and trackers; transform processing data into actionable yield breakdowns.
  • Analyze and report yield deviation issues; trigger required actions from PI, PE, or RDA and support early detection in block/partial conversion builds.
  • Work with PCS to select SPC/FDC charts for shift-left monitoring in yield dashboards.
  • Identify and propose yield improvement opportunities using tools such as Auto-diagnostics; coordinate cross-functional brainstorming.
  • Integrate AI-assisted tools and insights into daily tasks to improve efficiency and effectiveness, following legal and organizational standards.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for performing yield engineering work.

  • 0–4 years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing or engineering.
  • Basic knowledge of statistics, SPC, or data analysis tools and methods.
  • Interest in yield analysis and data-driven problem solving.
  • Familiarity with yield dashboards, defect breakdown, and failure analysis processes.
  • Ability to use AI-enabled tools responsibly and effectively for research, analysis, and operational tasks.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or a related discipline. (The posting specifies degree in Engineering or related field.)
