Job Title

PCIe IP Planner (Product Manager)

Role Summary

The Planner / Product Manager will own product definition and roadmaps for PCIe, CXL, and DMA IP in Altera's FPGA IP portfolio. You will gather and synthesize market and customer requirements, prioritize features, and work closely with architecture and engineering teams to drive delivery of hard and soft IP solutions.

Experience Level

Senior — requires 10+ years of relevant experience in FPGA applications, IP, or related server/storage/data center domains.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include defining product requirements and coordinating cross-functional delivery.

  • Define and prioritize requirements for next‑generation hard and soft PCIe/CXL/DMA IP.
  • Perform trade‑off analysis and converge on IP solutions for target FPGA end markets.
  • Maintain and communicate a detailed IP product roadmap.
  • Coordinate with customers, sales, marketing, business development, and engineering to gather and synthesize requirements.
  • Align interdependent programs and coordinate with peers across teams.
  • Manage input into engineering execution and change management; track program status and timelines.

Requirements

  • Must-have: 10+ years experience in FPGA applications, IP, or related server/storage/data center/acceleration domains with experience or understanding of PCIe, CXL, and DMA.
  • Must-have: Demonstrated experience engaging with customers and cross-functional teams to convert market needs into product specifications.
  • Must-have: Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills; ability to influence technical and business decisions.
  • Nice-to-have: Technical depth with semiconductor IP for FPGA or ASIC and familiarity with FPGA development tool flows.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience architecting FPGA-based solutions and prior product planning or technical marketing experience.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience.
