PCIe Design Engineer
Role Summary
Member of the Broadcom ASIC Product Division working on PCIe subsystems and SoC development. Responsible for RTL design, architecture, verification support, and silicon bring-up for high-performance PCIe IP.
Provide technical leadership across design, emulation, timing closure, and customer-facing support for PCIe solutions.
Experience Level
Senior - requires 14+ years of VLSI design and architecture experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include design, integration, verification and support for PCIe subsystems:
- Architect and implement PCIe RTL for Gen6/Gen7 and PIPE interfaces.
- Perform micro-architecture design and RTL coding following best practices.
- Lead synthesis, constraints definition, timing closure, and equivalence checking.
- Debug in emulation and silicon; support silicon bring-up and root-cause analysis.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide customer-facing technical support.
- Use Lint/CDC/RDC tools and address static-analysis findings.
- Troubleshoot SerDes, PLL, DMA, memory, and processor interfacing issues.
Requirements
Must-have skills and domain experience:
- Strong fundamentals in digital ASIC design, micro-architecture, and RTL coding methods.
- Domain expertise in PCIe Gen6/Gen7 and PIPE protocols.
- Experience with PLLs, SerDes, AMBA and other serial protocols, DMA, memory organization, and processor interfaces.
- Strong design, emulation, and silicon debug skills with an ability to deliver timely solutions.
- Proficiency in synthesis flows, timing constraints, timing closure, and equivalence checking (Formality/Conformal).
- Experience with Lint, CDC, RDC tools.
- Excellent communication and customer-support skills.
Education Requirements
B.Tech or M.Tech in Electronics or VLSI Engineering. The role expects approximately 14+ years of relevant VLSI design and architecture experience.
