Role Summary

Design and deliver PCIe controller IP for ASICs, focusing on RTL implementation, synthesis, timing closure, verification handoff, and silicon bring-up support. Work within a hardware design team to resolve design issues and provide customer-facing technical support.

Senior-level — typically requires 12+ years of experience in VLSI design and architecture.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities for this role include architecture, implementation, verification handoff, and field support of PCIe cores.

• Architect and implement PCIe controller IP (Gen5/6/7) and PIPE interfaces.
• Develop and maintain clean, synthesizable RTL following best coding practices.
• Create and apply synthesis constraints; lead timing-closure activities.
• Run equivalence checks and work with Formality/Conformal flows.
• Debug designs in emulation and on silicon; support lab bring-up sequences.
• Analyze lint/CDC/RDC tool results and resolve issues with design teams.
• Provide timely technical support to customers and cross-functional teams.
• Document design decisions and communicate status to stakeholders.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; concise and specific.

• Must-have: Strong fundamentals in digital ASIC design, micro-architecture, and RTL coding best practices.
• Must-have: Domain expertise in PCIe (Gen5/6/7) and PIPE protocol implementations.
• Must-have: Strong experience with synthesis, constraints, timing closure, and equivalence checking (Formality/Conformal).
• Must-have: Hands-on design, emulation, and silicon debug experience.
• Must-have: Familiarity with Lint, CDC, and RDC tool flows.
• Must-have: Good verbal and written communication skills for customer and team interactions.
• Nice-to-have: Experience with AMBA/other serial protocols, DMA, memory organization, and processor integration.

Education Requirements

B.Tech or M.Tech in Electronics or VLSI Engineering is specified. The role also specifies approximately 12+ years of VLSI design/architecture experience.
