Job Title

Pathfinding Device Integration Engineer

Role Summary

Work at the intersection of device physics, materials science, and process integration to advance future memory device concepts into manufacturable technologies. Partner cross-functionally with modeling, characterization, reliability, and process teams to develop and validate technology pathfinding solutions in an R&D fab environment.

This role focuses on translating innovative device concepts into data-driven experiments and integration plans that inform the long-term technology roadmap.

Experience Level

Mid-level. Specific years of experience not specified; role requires demonstrated technical expertise and leadership in device integration and pathfinding projects.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include driving concept evaluation, execution of experiments, and multi-functional coordination to assess technology trade-offs.

  • Identify and evaluate novel device concepts and material systems to enable future scaling and performance improvements.
  • Serve as an integration owner to align materials and process flows into cohesive, actionable technology solutions.
  • Design, build, and implement experiments in the R&D fab to optimize device performance and manufacturability.
  • Analyze inline, parametric, and probe data to evaluate operating mechanisms and sources of variability.
  • Collaborate with modeling, characterization, reliability, and establishment teams to guide technology trade-offs.
  • Communicate technical findings and strategic recommendations to leadership and diverse technical audiences.

Requirements

  • Must-have: Strong foundation in semiconductor device physics and process integration.
  • Must-have: Proven record of innovation via patents, publications, or product-relevant solutions.
  • Must-have: Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills.
  • Must-have: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with advanced semiconductor nodes or non-conventional device architectures.
  • Nice-to-have: Working knowledge of semiconductor build, architecture, or materials characterization.
  • Nice-to-have: Familiarity with TCAD, physics-based modeling, and statistical analysis tools.
  • Nice-to-have: Background in high-stakes R&D or technology pathfinding environments.

Education Requirements

PhD or MS in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Applied Physics, or a related technical field.
