Package Power Integrity Intern

Role Summary

Work on power integrity (PI) analysis for IC packages within the Advanced Design and Solutions Package team. Responsible for extraction, analysis, optimization and verification of package power delivery performance and for supporting package design teams to meet electrical specifications.

This role requires on-site presence in Phoenix, AZ.

Experience Level

Entry-level internship for students and early-career candidates.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

• Perform power integrity and electromagnetic analysis of IC packages using simulation tools.
• Extract, analyze, and optimize high-performance power delivery interfaces.
• Review electrical specifications and collaborate with package design and layout teams to meet requirements.
• Develop and validate design approaches via circuit and EM simulation; verify performance through simulation.
• Debug power-performance issues and propose design or layout changes.
• Document analysis results and communicate findings to cross-functional teams.

Requirements

Must-have and preferred qualifications:

• At least 1 year experience with circuit and electromagnetic simulation tools (minimum).
• Technical background in electrical analysis and design; strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage time, and communicate effectively with engineering teams.
• Preferred: Hands-on power integrity or related product design experience.
• Preferred tools: SPICE; Ansys (HFSS, Q2D, Q3D); Cadence (Allegro, PowerSI).
• Preferred: Familiarity with IC packaging concepts.

Education Requirements

Pursuing a Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering (student status required as stated in the posting).
