Optical Module Hardware FAE Intern
Role Summary
Join the field application engineering (FAE) team supporting optical module hardware development and customer integrations in Wuhan or Shanghai/Suzhou. The intern will work with senior FAEs and U.S. application engineers on PAM4 DSP, coherent DSP, linear TIA, drivers, and optical system debugging.
This is a paid internship (4–6+ months). Successful interns may be considered for a full-time offer after assessment. The role is eligible for Marvell bonus and equity plans.
Experience Level
Entry-level — internship. Candidates should be enrolled in a relevant graduate program and able to commit at least 4–6 months.
Responsibilities
Support FAEs and engineering teams in customer-facing technical activities, lab bring-up, and performance optimization.
- Review customer schematics and PCB layouts involving PAM4/Coherent DSPs, TIAs, and drivers.
- Support SI (signal integrity) and PI (power integrity) simulations.
- Assist lab activities: product bring-up, performance testing, tuning, and debugging.
- Work with customers and internal teams to diagnose system-level issues.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, FAQs, and internal training materials.

- Must-have: Ability to commit at least 4–6 months (internship period conducted at Marvell Wuhan or Marvell Shanghai/Suzhou).
- Nice-to-have: Fundamental understanding or research experience in AMS high-speed SerDes (e.g., PAM4), analog TIA and driver design, and optical communication systems.
- Nice-to-have: Familiarity with lab testing, system bring-up, or hardware/software co-debugging.
Education Requirements
Candidates should be pursuing a Master’s or Ph.D. in Integrated Circuit Design, Integrated Systems, Integrated Circuit Science and Engineering, Electronic Information Engineering, or a closely related field.
