Job Title

OPC Verification Engineer

Role Summary

The OPC Verification Engineer develops and validates optical proximity correction (OPC) verification recipes and RET (Resolution Enhancement Techniques) flows to support advanced-node semiconductor lithography. The role works with circuit designers, fab engineers, lithography and yield teams to translate lithography requirements into code, tests, and verified outputs.

Experience Level

Mid-level. Requires significant hands-on experience in semiconductor photolithography and RET development; the posting specifies 5+ years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities focus on implementing and validating OPC verification recipes, optimizing hotspot prediction, and collaborating across fabrication and design teams.

  • Collaborate with designers and fab engineers to gather and clarify lithography and RET requirements.
  • Translate lithography requirements into implementation plans for OPC verification (OPCV) recipe code.
  • Write, maintain, and optimize OPCV-recipe code and parameters to improve hotspot prediction and reduce false errors.
  • Create, execute, and maintain test cases for OPCV-recipe code.
  • Review and analyze large RET-output layouts for quality and manufacturability.
  • Interface with lithography, mask, and yield-enhancement teams to drive solutions and improvements.

Requirements

Must-have qualifications and technical skills required for the role, followed by preferred skills.

Must-have:

  • 5+ years' experience in semiconductor photolithography or RET development.
  • Demonstrated lithography and RET expertise for 45 nm, 28 nm, 22 nm and 20 nm technology nodes.
  • Strong understanding of advanced lithography processes, lithography simulation techniques, mask making, and RET techniques used in semiconductor manufacturing.
  • Experience translating lithography requirements into OPC/verification implementations and optimizing recipe parameters.
  • Ability to create and execute test cases and review RET outputs for quality.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with PLRC and ORC.
  • Familiarity with physical layout formats and tools (OASIS, GDSII): viewing, measuring, and manipulating layout data.
  • Experience with code version control (for example, Git).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, verbal and written communication skills; ability to work in cross-functional teams and manage time to meet project deadlines.

Education Requirements

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Chemistry, or a related field is required (as stated in the posting).
