R&D Engineer / C++ Software Engineer

Role Summary

Join the Siemens EDA software team in Meylan (Grenoble area) to design and implement software used in electronic chip development. You will contribute to software architecture and development that supports next-generation semiconductor design tools and workflows.

You will work in a cross-functional R&D team, collaborating with product and application engineers to align and optimize the development environment and design methodologies.

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities include:

• Collect internal customer requirements and translate them into software features.
• Design, implement and maintain existing and new software solutions.
• Contribute to software architecture and component design for EDA tools.
• Collaborate with product and application engineers to harmonize development environments and design methodologies.
• Work within a team to deliver robust, maintainable code and participate in code reviews and integration activities.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and attributes:

• Strong expertise in C++ and Python.
• Good knowledge of object-oriented software architecture and design.
• Advanced familiarity with Linux and associated scripting (Tcl, Python).
• Experience with hardware description languages and related technologies: VHDL, Verilog, SystemVerilog, UPF.
• Excellent communication skills in French and English (spoken and written); analytical, autonomous and team-oriented working style.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience in EDA or microelectronics domains.
• DevOps skills and familiarity with development toolchains and CI/CD practices.

Education Requirements

Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or Software Engineering is specified; the posting also requests professional experience in software development and microelectronics. (Degree requirement stated as Master or Doctorate.)
