OPC Production Engineer
Role Summary
The OPC Production Engineer processes reticle design data through Optical Proximity Correction (OPC) to ensure accurate transfer of patterns to silicon during photolithography. The role sits in MaskTech and supports tapeout operations, collaborating with design, lithography, mask development, and fabrication teams across global sites.
Experience Level
Entry-level / Early career β minimum of 2 years of semiconductor industry experience expected.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Develop OPC job decks, execute process flows, and optimize recipes to support production and R&D tapeouts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create new OPC flows, implement best-known methods, and resolve manufacturing issues.
- Analyze and troubleshoot OPC process problems to maintain a stable production environment and high quality.
- Develop automation, scripts, and process improvements to reduce cycle time and improve operational efficiency.
- Document and communicate technical findings, project status, risks, and recommendations to partners and management.
Requirements
Must-have:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the semiconductor industry.
- Basic understanding of semiconductor manufacturing technologies, lithography processes, and photomasks.
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills and experience working with global teams.
- Proven problem-solving, organizational, and multitasking abilities with capacity to manage competing priorities.
Nice-to-have:
- Hands-on experience with OPC and CAD tool chains, and familiarity with GDS/OAS mask files and layout viewers (e.g., K2View, DF2).
- Experience in Linux environments and scripting or programming (Python, Perl).
- Experience working with geographically distributed teams (particularly US and Japan).
- Familiarity with applying AI tools to engineering workflows.
Education Requirements
Required: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related science field, or equivalent practical experience. Preferred: Master's degree in electrical engineering or a related science discipline. The posting explicitly allows equivalent experience in lieu of a degree.
