OPC Production Engineer

Role Summary

The OPC Production Engineer processes reticle design data through Optical Proximity Correction (OPC) and maintains OPC flows to ensure accurate pattern transfer during photolithography. This role sits within MaskTech and partners with Design, Lithography, Tapeout Operations, Mask Development, and global manufacturing teams to support production and R&D tapeouts.

Experience Level

Entry-level β€” minimum 2 years of semiconductor industry experience required.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities support tapeout execution, process stability, and automation for reticle/OPC workflows.

  • Develop and execute OPC job decks, optimize recipes and process flows for production and R&D tapeouts.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to implement best-known methods (BKMs) and resolve manufacturing issues.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot OPC process issues to maintain high-quality, stable production.
  • Create automation, scripts, and verification methods to reduce cycle time and improve yield and operational efficiency.
  • Report technical findings, project status, risks, and recommendations to partners and management.

Requirements

Key must-have skills and experience; preferred items are listed below.

  • Must-have: Minimum 2 years of semiconductor industry experience.
  • Basic understanding of semiconductor manufacturing technologies, lithography processes, and photomasks.
  • Ability to analyze and troubleshoot OPC-related process issues and maintain production stability.
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills and experience working with global teams.
  • Good problem-solving, organizational, and multitasking skills; ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Experience developing automation or scripts to improve process efficiency.
  • Nice-to-have: experience with OPC tools, CAD and layout files (GDS/OAS), and layout viewers; familiarity with Linux and scripting (Python/Perl); experience with distributed teams and AI tool application.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related science field, or equivalent practical experience. Master's degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline is preferred. The posting explicitly allows equivalent practical experience in lieu of a degree.
