NVM Circuit Design Engineer, Staff
SynopsysJob Title
NVM Circuit Design Engineer, Staff
Role Summary
Lead the architecture, transistor-level design, verification, and silicon validation of CMOS non-volatile memory (NVM) IP across multiple technologies and foundries. Work with cross-functional teams (product, layout, CAD, silicon validation, and applications/sales) to deliver robust, production-ready memory IP from concept through tapeout.
Responsible for TestChip flows, post-layout extraction and silicon debug, and for driving design methodologies and best practices to improve reliability and time-to-market.
Experience Level
Senior β typically 5β12+ years of industry circuit design experience with significant analog and memory design exposure.
Responsibilities
Core responsibilities include hands-on design, verification, and silicon validation of NVM IP and collaboration across teams to ensure manufacturability and product readiness.
- Lead NVM TestChip and IP design flow across technologies and foundries.
- Architect, design, and verify CMOS-based NVM IP modules from concept to production tapeout.
- Perform silicon verification, in-depth testing, post-layout extraction, simulation, and debugging with silicon validation teams.
- Collaborate with layout and CAD teams on floorplanning, parasitic-aware optimization, and manufacturability trade-offs.
- Support sales and applications engineers during complex customer engagements and provide technical leadership.
Requirements
Key qualifications and skills required to perform the role.
- Must-have: 5β12+ years of industry circuit design experience with strong analog/transistor-level design skills.
- Must-have: Experience with TestChip tapeout flows, silicon debugging techniques (FIB, micro-probing), post-layout RC extraction, and statistical design (Monte-Carlo).
- Must-have: Proficiency with circuit simulation tools (e.g., HSIM, HSPICE) and custom schematic/layout editors.
- Must-have: Strong knowledge of layout considerations for advanced nodes, parasitics, matching techniques, and signal integrity.
- Must-have: Expertise in analog blocks relevant to memory (sense amplifiers, charge pumps, high-voltage regulators, bandgap references).
- Nice-to-have: Memory design experience and exposure to FinFET processes, low-power design, and power management circuitry.
Education Requirements
Not specified.
