Role Summary
Entry-level positions on NVIDIA's hardware teams in Shanghai, focused on ASIC and IP engineering across design, verification, physical implementation and silicon validation.
Candidates will be placed on teams working on SoC/IP design and verification, physical design flows, power/performance modeling, or post-silicon validation depending on business need.
Experience Level
Entry-level / New college graduate.
Responsibilities
Possible assignments and typical responsibilities include:
- IP and SoC-level design and verification (including multimedia IP)
- Custom SoC design and verification
- Networking chip design and verification
- Architectural power and energy-efficiency modeling
- Design-for-test (DFT) implementation and verification
- Formal verification and use of formal tools
- Post-silicon bring-up and validation
Requirements
Technical skills, coursework, or internship experience expected for placement in these hardware ASIC roles.
Must-have:
- Course or internship experience in digital systems, digital/VLSI/RTL design, and testbench creation
- Familiarity with computer architecture, computer arithmetic, and object-oriented programming
- Knowledge of CMOS device behavior, circuits, and infrastructure development
- Experience or coursework in power and performance optimization, architectural tradeoff, and power/noise analysis
- Exposure to CAD and physical design methodologies, floorplanning, power/clock distribution, placement & routing, and timing closure
- Understanding of performance, verification, and emulation methodology
- Familiarity with hardware verification methodologies (notably UVM) and basic exposure to formal verification tools
- Fundamental board-level knowledge such as power integrity (PI), signal integrity (SI), and PCB-level design
Nice-to-have:
- Internship experience on ASIC/SoC projects
- Exposure to post-silicon validation or advanced formal verification flows
Education Requirements
Expected to graduate in 2027 with a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
