Job Title

NVIDIA 2027 Internships: Mixed Signal Design

Role Summary

12-week full-time internship within NVIDIA's hardware mixed-signal design organization. Interns work on projects that contribute to analog and mixed-signal circuit design, simulation, layout coordination, and lab validation under the guidance of senior engineers.

Hourly range: 20 USD - 71 USD.

Experience Level

Entry-level internship for currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate students (B.S., M.S., or Ph.D.). No specific prior professional experience required; suitable for students seeking hands-on hardware design experience.

Responsibilities

Interns will execute well-scoped engineering tasks and contribute to team projects. Typical responsibilities include:

  • Perform analog and mixed-signal circuit simulations and analyses (noise, loop stability, AC/DC/transient, Monte-Carlo).
  • Contribute to CMOS analog circuit design and high-speed circuit blocks (PLLs, DACs, ADCs, bandgaps).
  • Support layout and physical-design coordination and reviews.
  • Set up and run lab measurements using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and test equipment; analyze measurement data.
  • Develop and run scripts, testbenches, and verification code (Python, Perl, Verilog/SystemVerilog, VHDL) to automate tests.
  • Document results and present findings to engineers and mentors.

Requirements

Technical must-haves and useful skills. Degree enrollment requirements are listed under Education Requirements below.

  • Must-have: Coursework or practical experience in analog fundamentals and analog simulation methodologies (noise analysis, stability, AC/DC/transient, Monte-Carlo).
  • Must-have: Knowledge of CMOS analog circuit concepts and high-speed circuit principles; familiarity with FinFET behavior is helpful.
  • Must-have: Hands-on experience with lab test equipment (oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer) and basic measurement setups.
  • Must-have: Experience with SPICE/HSPICE or equivalent circuit simulators; scripting in Python or Perl.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with Cadence Virtuoso, Synopsys tool flows, Simulink, and hardware description languages (Verilog/SystemVerilog, VHDL).

Education Requirements

Actively enrolled in a B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field for the full duration of the 12-week internship. Anticipated graduation date (month and year) must be clearly indicated on the resume/CV.
