Responsibilities

Interns are assigned projects with measurable impact and are expected to deliver verification artifacts, tests, and reports.

  • Develop and run verification testbenches and directed/random tests.
  • Write and execute test plans; analyze results and document findings.
  • Debug failures using simulation and waveform tools; improve diagnostics.
  • Collaborate with architects, RTL designers, and software engineers to validate hardware features.
  • Use formal tools and assertion-based techniques where applicable.
  • Present results and status to team members and mentors.

Requirements

Required technical skills and experience for success in the role. Education expectations are listed separately below.

  • Familiarity with SystemVerilog, UVM, Verilog, or VHDL for verification or design.
  • Experience with digital/VLSI design concepts, functional coverage, and random testing.
  • Exposure to debugging and simulation tools (examples: Verdi, DVE, Questa) and/or formal tools (e.g., JasperGold).
  • Ability to write test plans and diagnostics; experience with directed and random diagnostics.
  • Understanding of CPU/GPU or computer architecture and software infrastructure for hardware validation.
  • Programming skills desirable: Python, C, C++, Perl, TCL, and comfort working in Linux.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team under mentorship.
  • Nice-to-have: prior verification/internship experience, familiarity with GPU verification or validation workflows.

Education Requirements

Must be actively enrolled and pursuing a B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field for the full duration of the internship. Anticipated graduation month and year must be indicated on the resume/CV.
