Job Title

NVIDIA 2027 Internships: Computer Architecture

Role Summary

12-week, full-time internship on NVIDIA's Computer Architecture teams. Interns work on projects that contribute measurable results to GPU/CPU architecture, memory systems, performance analysis, or related areas.

Students will implement hardware/software experiments, run performance analysis, and collaborate with engineering teams to prototype or evaluate architecture ideas. Hourly pay range: USD 20–71.

Experience Level

Entry-level internship for current university students (B.S., M.S., or Ph.D.). Intended for students actively enrolled and available for the full duration of the 12-week internship.

Responsibilities

Typical responsibilities vary by assignment; common tasks include:

  • Design, implement, or validate hardware or microarchitecture features (RTL, models, or simulations).
  • Develop and run performance models, benchmarks, and experiments to evaluate architecture trade-offs.
  • Prototype or optimize software components (CUDA, drivers, or system software) for GPU/CPU workloads.
  • Analyze results and present findings to engineering teams, iterating on designs and tests.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and follow engineering workflows (version control, code reviews).

Requirements

Core technical skills and experience expected for consideration. Education requirements are listed separately below.

  • Relevant coursework or internship experience in Digital Systems, VLSI, Computer Architecture, Computer Organization, Computer Arithmetic, or related topics.
  • Experience or interest in one or more focus areas: Computer Graphics, Deep Learning, Ray Tracing, Parallel Programming, Memory Architecture, or High-Performance Computing.
  • Proficiency with programming and tooling such as C/C++, Python, Linux, and version control (Git, Perforce).
  • Exposure to hardware description languages and hardware flow is valued: Verilog, SystemVerilog, or VHDL.
  • Familiarity with GPU programming and acceleration (CUDA, OpenCL) and parallel libraries (MPI, OpenMP) is beneficial.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team-driven engineering environment.

Education Requirements

Must be actively enrolled in a B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field for the full duration of the internship. Anticipated graduation date (month and year) must be indicated on the resume/CV. Equivalent related academic programs are acceptable.
