Job Title
NPI Test Development Engineer
Role Summary
Lead design and deployment of automated test solutions for RF and mixed-signal products across the New Product Introduction (NPI) lifecycle. The role bridges software and systems engineering with RF test expertise to deliver scalable, maintainable, production-ready test systems for high-volume manufacturing.
Experience Level
Senior β typically requires 8+ years of experience in automated test development and RF test engineering.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include development, integration, and improvement of production test systems:
- Design and implement automated test solutions using TestStand and C# on PXI-based ATE.
- Develop RF test programs and perform RF/mixed-signal measurement validation.
- Integrate hardware and software components; debug complex system-level failures.
- Provide design-for-test (DFT) feedback to product and hardware engineering teams.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and test staff.
- Define and promote best practices and reusable framework components across the test organization.
- Drive continuous improvement of test architectures, reliability, and maintainability.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; brief list of preferred traits below.
- Strong proficiency in C# and NI TestStand for automated test development.
- Experience developing tests on PXI-based automated test equipment (ATE).
- Deep knowledge of RF measurements and characterization techniques.
- Proven ability to debug complex hardware and software interactions.
- Experience delivering production-ready, scalable test systems and test frameworks.
- Ability to provide actionable DFT feedback and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Nice-to-have:
- Structured problem-solving approach and strong written/verbal communication.
