Job Title

NPI Analyst

Role Summary

The NPI Analyst supports the Signal Integrity Products (SIP) Engineering team in Ottawa by implementing and maintaining the New Product Introduction (NPI) process. The role focuses on process maintenance, training and enablement, reporting, audit readiness, PLM requirements and automation to improve compliance and reduce bureaucracy.

Experience Level

Mid-level; 3–5 years of experience in the semiconductor industry.

Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day support for the NPI process, ensure records and training are current, and build reporting and automation to track process health.

  • Maintain the SIP NPI process description, procedures, templates, checklists and controlled documents in partnership with Quality and process owners.
  • Manage process change-control: collect feedback, prioritize and propose updates, socialize changes with stakeholders, and communicate releases.
  • Maintain the approval matrix (function-to-name mappings) and support a recurring NPI community forum (logistics, input capture, communications).
  • Develop and maintain training framework and records for project leaders, functional managers, and core team members; maintain Product Leader handbook and quick-reference material.
  • Verify template currency and completeness of gate submissions prior to approval workflows; support gate logistics, deliverable collation, minute capture and approval routing.
  • Support audit readiness: sample project records, identify exposures, and track remediation to closure; support process-related CARs from intake through root-cause and corrective action.
  • Build and maintain management reporting on program status, gate cycle time, documentation completeness, exceptions/waivers and process performance metrics.
  • Collect PLM requirements for NPI capabilities, administer project templates and workflows, and support migration to replacement platforms.
  • Identify and support automation opportunities to reduce manual effort and improve compliant behavior; serve as primary day-to-day NPI process contact across functions.

Requirements

Must-have items are listed first; nice-to-have items follow.

  • Must-have: 3–5 years in the semiconductor industry; working knowledge of a phase-gate NPI or product development process; strong written communication; understanding of project management best practices and office administration in an engineering environment; ability to coordinate cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with PLM and project portfolio systems (e.g., Agile PLM); exposure to IC product development from concept through production release; scripting or light automation applied to document workflow; experience with version control systems (SVN, Git) in an engineering documentation context.

Education Requirements

A combination of post-secondary education and relevant work experience; equivalent practical experience is acceptable. No specific degree or field of study is mandated in the posting.
