Job Title
Non-Volatile Memory Quality & Reliability Assurance RMA Engineer
Role Summary
Performs failure analysis and root-cause investigations on returned non-volatile memory products (SSDs, NVMe, UFS, eMMC). Works within quality and reliability teams to diagnose customer returns, validate corrective actions, and maintain failure-analysis documentation.
This role is based at the Singapore site and supports cross-functional engineering and customer-facing teams.
Experience Level
Mid-level β typically 3β6 years of relevant experience; prior exposure to NVMe or managed NAND products is advantageous.
Responsibilities
Primary duties include failure analysis, experiment design, documentation, and cross-team issue resolution.
- Perform system-level failure analysis of customer-returned products and identify electrical and physical failure modes.
- Analyze logs, test data, and device behavior across firmware, NAND, controller, and system interactions.
- Design and execute targeted experiments to validate hypotheses and corner cases.
- Determine and verify root causes and corrective actions; produce written FA diagnostic reports and maintain records in quality systems.
- Provide technical support and training to customer-facing engineers; collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve RMA issues.
- Maintain technical knowledge of product capabilities and perform additional testing and receiving processes as needed.
- Integrate AI-assisted tools and insights into daily work to improve efficiency and quality, following organizational standards.
Requirements
Core skills and experience required to perform the role.
- Hands-on experience with failure analysis, debugging, and test methodologies.
- Proficiency with data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Python, SQL-based systems, Tableau or JMP).
- Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing, assembly, and test flows.
- Strong analytical ability with structured root-cause problem-solving.
- Effective written and verbal communication for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to manage ambiguity, prioritize multiple RMAs, and meet aggressive deadlines.
- Ability to collaborate and influence across cross-functional teams without direct authority.
