Non-Volatile Memory Design Architecture Lead
Role Summary
The Design Architecture Lead will define and execute architecture and pathfinding for next-generation NAND flash memory designs. This role partners with cross-functional teams (design, verification, product engineering, process, test) to optimize die size, performance, reliability, and power across product development from concept through production.
Responsibilities include setting simulation and verification plans, driving feature evaluation and architecture decisions, supporting post-silicon validation and root-cause analysis, and improving design and quality methodologies.
Experience Level
Senior-level. The role expects substantial senior experience in non-volatile memory design (the posting specifies 15+ years).
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Define and architect memory and storage solutions targeting high performance and energy efficiency.
- Identify and evaluate new concepts and features based on customer and product requirements.
- Contribute to design, layout, and optimization of memory and logic circuits for NAND Flash products.
- Lead multi-functional teams to evaluate key features and recommend architecture decisions.
- Plan, track, and manage full-chip verification activities, including criteria setting and coverage analysis.
- Support post-silicon validation, root-cause analysis, and production issue resolution.
- Collaborate with marketing, probe, assembly, test, process integration, and product engineering to ensure manufacturability.
- Drive methodology and quality improvements across the design organization.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience:
- 15+ years of proven experience in non-volatile memory design, with broad NAND Flash design expertise.
- Deep knowledge of logic, analog, and mixed-signal circuit functionality at full-chip level.
- Familiarity with circuit simulators such as XA, HSPICE, and hsim/finesim.
- Understanding of semiconductor reliability issues (CHC, NBTI, stress, snapback) and EM/IR analysis.
- Experience with StarRC/Calibre parasitic extraction flows and debugging extraction issues.
- Ability to supervise and manage full-chip verification and to lead cross-functional engineering teams.
- Experience supporting post-silicon validation and providing engineering solutions for production issues.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience orchestrating adoption of AI tools; familiarity with Agentic AI or willingness to learn.
- Strong interpersonal and technical communication skills for conveying complex concepts.
Education Requirements
BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related field (the posting also allows related technical fields). Equivalent practical experience may be considered.
