Node Development Product Engineer
Micron TechnologyJob Title
Node Development Product Engineer
Role Summary
Responsible for bringing up new DRAM process nodes from design start through qualification and production ramp, co-optimizing product and process to achieve target yield and performance.
Work as a cross-functional technical lead with Design, Test, Process Integration, Manufacturing and Quality teams to diagnose failure mechanisms, guide test programs, and enable production readiness.
Experience Level
Mid-level. The posting does not state specific years of experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include technical leadership across node startup, failure analysis, yield improvement, and test/program development.
- Enable new process node startup, qualification, yield improvement and production ramp.
- Provide technical direction to development teams using process-integration knowledge.
- Develop and track technology health metrics and drive learning actions.
- Perform electrical failure analysis (bench and probe) to isolate circuit, array, or process-originated issues.
- Identify design marginalities and recommend fixes to improve robustness and yield.
- Perform deep statistical analysis to diagnose yield trends and prioritize corrective actions.
- Guide probe/test program correctness by correlating design intent, simulation and production test behavior; identify test-mode misconfigurations and parameter issues.
- Use silicon validation environments, proprietary lab equipment and automation scripts to assess device performance.
- Collaborate across global engineering teams and communicate technical findings, risks and readiness criteria to R&D and manufacturing stakeholders.
Requirements
Key skills and experience. Must-haves are listed first.
- Must-have: DRAM architecture, process and test knowledge.
- Must-have: Yield-ramp and electrical failure-analysis experience.
- Must-have: Strong JMP and Python capability for data analysis.
- Project management and presentation skills to lead cross-functional activities.
- Familiarity with AI tools and how to apply them to job functions (e.g., Claude, internal AI assistants) - nice to have.
Education Requirements
Engineering degree required. The posting does not specify a particular engineering field or state an explicit equivalent-experience allowance.
