New Graduate Engineer, Electrical (Starlink)

Role Summary

Entry-level electrical engineer supporting Starlink hardware development and high-volume production at the Bastrop/Abernathy, TX site. Work includes board-level design, RF/antenna, test, manufacturing process, reliability, controls, compliance, and facility electrical systems.

The role focuses on delivering reliable consumer and gateway products through hands-on design, validation, and production support.

Experience Level

Entry-level / New graduate. Candidates are typically graduating in 2026 or 2027. 1+ years of practical experience is expected; internships, co-ops, and relevant projects are accepted.

Responsibilities

Typical responsibilities include:

  • Capture requirements, perform system trades, select components, produce schematics and PCB layouts, and prototype electrical designs.
  • Perform hardware bring-up, debugging, verification, documentation, and support manufacturing and test processes.
  • Create simulation models to evaluate hardware performance and contribute to pre-silicon verification, chip bring-up, and post-silicon validation.
  • Develop automation and test software (Python) to control units under test and test equipment.
  • Provide engineering support for facility electrical components and systems, including troubleshooting and improvement efforts.
  • Conduct failure analysis and reliability improvements, and work to simplify solutions to complex problems.

Requirements

Must-have and preferred qualifications:

  • Must-have: 1+ years practical experience in circuit or hardware design/analysis (internships/co-ops/projects accepted).
  • Must-have: ITAR-eligible: U.S. citizen, U.S. national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or able to obtain required Department of State authorizations.
  • Must-have: Willingness to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
  • Nice-to-have: Mixed-signal PCB design experience (processors, FPGAs, Ethernet, multi-GHz SerDes, DDR4, ADC/DACs, power supplies).
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with lab/test equipment (oscilloscope, multimeter, electronic load, spectrum analyzer, network analyzer, vector signal generator, SMU) and environmental testing (HALT/HASS, thermal, humidity, shock & vibration).
  • Nice-to-have: Programming skills (Python, C/C++), experience with manufacturing/test automation, and exposure to production machinery and sensors.
  • Nice-to-have: Strong written and verbal communication and ability to work in a dynamic environment.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or another STEM discipline is required; candidates may be graduating with a bachelor's, master's, or PhD in 2026 or 2027. Internships, co-ops, and equivalent project experience are accepted as practical experience.
