Role Summary
The Yield Enhancement Electrical Failure Analysis Engineer performs electrical failure investigations to identify and resolve defects that impact manufacturing yield. The role combines hands-on electrical characterization, data analytics, automation, and AI-enabled workflows to accelerate root-cause identification and yield improvement.

Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities focus on electrical failure analysis, yield monitoring, data-driven investigation, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Perform electrical and failure analysis and summarize findings with clear, data-driven reports.
- Operate and maintain lab equipment while following safety procedures.
- Correlate electrical data, failure analysis results, process history, and AI-generated insights to drive root-cause investigations and corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain yield monitoring methods, defect classification systems, and screening strategies.
- Create and automate data analysis tools, dashboards, and AI-enabled workflows to reduce manual processing.
- Apply statistical methods, machine learning, and advanced analytics for anomaly detection, trending, and predictive analysis.
- Lead technical reviews and communicate investigation results and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Support NPI, qualification activities, and technology transfers with yield analysis and risk assessments.
- Document best practices, training materials, and AI prompt libraries; mentor technicians and junior engineers.
- Evaluate and implement new characterization, debug, automation, and AI-enabled FA techniques.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and capabilities for daily execution of failure analysis and yield investigations.
- Knowledge of semiconductor devices, process integration, memory architecture, and device operation to analyze electrical failures and yield issues.
- Ability to perform electrical and failure analysis per area skill guidelines and to operate lab equipment safely.
- Experience conducting advanced data analysis, statistical evaluation, and data visualization to support investigations.
- Proficiency with data analytics, scripting, or programming tools such as Python, SQL, JMP, Power BI, or Tableau.
- Ability to use AI tools and large language models to improve data processing, investigation efficiency, and technical reporting.
- Ability to summarize investigation findings, identify potential root cause, and propose recommended actions in concise technical reports.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience applying AI, machine learning, or predictive analytics to manufacturing or failure analysis workflows.
- Experience building automated data pipelines, dashboards, or workflow automation solutions.
- Familiarity with Merlin/Raptor tester platforms, emission tools, MPI probe stations, nanoprobe tools, and related analysis environments.
- Experience mentoring technicians and participating in digital transformation or continuous improvement projects.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Materials Science, Computer Science, Data Science, or Chemical Engineering.
