New College Grad - TSE R&D Equipment Engineer
Role Summary
Join the TSE Equipment Roadmap and Strategy Group to support evaluation, specification, validation, and characterization of test equipment and interface hardware for optical interconnects and high‑speed electrical interfaces used in advanced memory and packaging products.
This role provides hands‑on exposure to equipment introduction, signal integrity studies, and cross‑functional collaboration with Test, Product, Design, Systems Integration, and Process teams.
Experience Level
Entry-level / New college graduate. Position targets recent graduates or candidates with equivalent practical experience.
Responsibilities
Support engineering activities for new test equipment and interface hardware; contribute to test methodology, validation, and rollout.
- Compare and evaluate test equipment capabilities for optical, high‑speed electrical, and emerging memory interfaces.
- Help define equipment specifications and test methodologies for optical transceivers, co‑packaged optics, and photonic interconnect components.
- Participate in signal integrity characterization and correlation for high‑speed digital and optical interfaces.
- Assist with hardware validation, debug, and qualification of new test equipment, sockets, probe cards, and interface hardware.
- Contribute to development of test plans, procedures, and documentation for new equipment introduction.
- Apply statistical methods and Design of Experiments (DOE) to equipment characterization under guidance.
- Use AI tools to support analysis and accelerate technical learning in test equipment and optical interconnect technology.
- Support rollout and integration of emerging optical and high‑speed electrical interfaces into product test flows.
Requirements

- Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional engineering teams and external suppliers.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a data‑driven approach to decision making.
- Effective verbal and written communication; comfortable presenting technical work to teams.
- Willingness to learn and apply statistical methods, DOE, and AI‑assisted analysis to equipment characterization.
Nice to have:
- Practical lab experience with oscilloscopes, network analyzers, optical test equipment, or ATE.
- Exposure to semiconductor devices, test methodologies, or equipment design via coursework or internships.
- Awareness of emerging memory architectures and packaging technologies.
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Academic coursework or internship experience in semiconductor test, equipment design, or related areas is noted as relevant.
