Job Title

New College Grad - Semiconductor Design Engineer, DRAM Products Group

Role Summary

Design and analyze digital and analog circuits for DRAM memory products across the full product lifecycle, from circuit-level design and simulation through silicon validation. Work on memory arrays, control logic, datapaths and test logic while collaborating with global design, verification, test, process and product teams to optimize power, performance, area, cost and reliability.

Experience Level

Entry-level — New college graduate. Typical experience: 0–3 years.

Responsibilities

Primary duties include design, simulation, and validation of memory circuits and support of lab bring-up activities.

  • Assist with gate-level to full‑chip design, layout review, and performance optimization of memory circuits.
  • Set up and run circuit simulations using SPICE, Verilog, and similar tools; debug and analyze results.
  • Design schematic blocks including memory arrays, control logic, address decode, datapaths, and internal test logic.
  • Import and analyze layout parasitics into simulation flow and optimize layout/design rules.
  • Evaluate architectural tradeoffs for power, performance, area, cost, and reliability.
  • Support test chip definition, silicon validation strategies, and lab correlation.
  • Collaborate with Product Engineering, Test, Probe, Process Integration, Assembly, and Marketing to ensure manufacturability.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and preferred experience for success in this role.

  • Must-have: Basic understanding of memory applications and CMOS device behavior.
  • Must-have: Strong foundation in circuit simulation setup, analysis, and debug (SPICE/Verilog experience expected).
  • Must-have: Effective written and verbal communication skills to convey complex technical concepts.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with memory circuit design and layout optimization.
  • Nice-to-have: Familiarity with reliability limits of CMOS processes and exposure to silicon validation/test chip bring‑up.
  • Nice-to-have: Demonstrated motivation to grow technically and to contribute within collaborative, global teams.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or higher (Master's/advanced degrees acceptable). The posting specifies Electrical Engineering as the field; no alternative degree-by-equivalence language was provided.
