New College Grad - Memory Design Engineer (HBM)

Role Summary

Join Micron's Design Engineering team focused on HBM memory products. The role contributes to the design, optimization, verification, and layout of memory, logic, and analog circuits and works with cross-functional teams to deliver manufacturable memory solutions.

Experience Level

Entry-level / New college graduate. Suitable for candidates starting their career in memory circuit design.

Responsibilities

The engineer will develop and validate circuit and layout solutions for HBM products and support tape-out and manufacturing activities.

  • Design, layout, and optimize memory, logic, and analog circuits for HBM products.
  • Perform parasitic modeling and circuit-level validation; support reticle experiments and tape-out revisions.
  • Execute layout tasks including floor planning, placement, and routing.
  • Conduct circuit verification using industry-standard modeling and simulation tools.
  • Collaborate with design, verification, process, and product engineering teams to ensure manufacturability.
  • Leverage AI-supported design and simulation tools to improve modeling accuracy and development speed.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for immediate contribution.

  • Experience designing and analyzing digital, analog, or mixed-signal circuits.
  • Proficiency in parasitic modeling, verification, and simulation using industry-standard EDA tools.
  • Experience with layout processes: floor planning, placement, and routing.
  • Experience using generative or AI-supported tools to improve productivity.
  • Ability to interpret product requirements and specifications and apply them to design and layout choices.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience collaborating across build, verification, product engineering, test, assembly, probe, or process integration teams.
  • Hands-on experience with reticle experiments or tape-out revision cycles.
  • Experience working with CAD, modeling, or standards teams to improve design methodologies.
  • Experience supporting semiconductor build activities such as circuit checking and device evaluation.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
