New College Grad - Engineer, IC CAD

Role Summary

Join the CAD engineering team to support and improve the software, tools, and workflows used for memory IC design. The role focuses on ensuring CAD environments are reliable, efficient, and ready to support global design teams and tapeout flows.

Experience Level

Entry-level (New college graduate). Suitable for candidates with limited professional experience; typically 0–2 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Provide CAD support and develop tools to enable design and verification workflows for memory products.

  • Coordinate CAD software changes and updates with global CAD teams.
  • Support design, product, and process engineers in use of CAD tools and design flows.
  • Maintain and improve CAD infrastructure (examples: Methodics, Perforce, Jenkins, Virtuoso, web servers, internal applications).
  • Develop and enhance tools and flows for design setup, circuit design, verification, performance optimization, and tapeout.
  • Apply software engineering methods to CAD projects and assess architecture and hardware limitations.

Requirements

Key skills and experience for successful candidates.

  • Must-have: Programming experience in Python or an equivalent high-level language.
  • Must-have: Experience supporting or developing CAD software, tools, or workflows.
  • Must-have: Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers across global teams.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with EDA/CAD tools from vendors such as Cadence or Synopsys.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience implementing and supporting CAD software projects.
  • Nice-to-have: Strong communication skills for cross-site and cross-functional collaboration.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Microelectronics, or a related technical field is required. A Master’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering is preferred; equivalent practical experience is acceptable.
